The prestigious 68th Nairobi Chess Club Championship witnessed a historic triumph as South Sudanese Candidate Master Garang Panthou Madol captured the coveted continental title at the Goan Gymkhana Club in Nairobi.

Scoring 5.5 points out of six classical rounds, Madol maintained an undefeated run against a star-studded lineup of Kenyan Olympiad players, Ugandan masters, and regional contenders.

The tournament, recognized as the oldest continuously organized chess championship on the African continent, featured over 100 participants competing across Open, Ladies, and Under-18 divisions with full FIDE rating calculations.
